In fact the color you choose for your kitchen project will either help to compliment the look or make it a complete disaster. It is important to remember that the colors you choose for your kitchen will strongly influence the kind of mood you are trying to present in this particular room. This is why when it comes to choosing not just your cabinets, but flooring, appliances and countertops today, manufacturers of all kinds of kitchen products are offering the consumer a much wider range of colors and designs than ever before. Therefore making it much easier for you to ensure that everything within this area looks great and compliments each other perfectly.
Today the most popular colors being used in many kitchens come in varying shades of brown, blue, pink, yellow and peach. However more often than not the most popular of all colors to be used in kitchens is white as it gives the appearance of the area being clean and spacious. But the problem with just using white as the main color in any kitchen is that it can make it look extremely sterile and not a room that is considered to be the heart of your home. Therefore if you are considering using white as the main color in your kitchen because it is small, or you want to provide the feeling of a clean environment, then you should use other colors to provide accents. So why not consider using appliances or tiles or other pieces of furniture within this space in another color such as blue, green or red. Also look closely at the color of your flooring. If you are looking to add warmth then why not consider a light colored oak flooring (whether in real wood or laminate) installed.
In fact when it comes to choosing the right colors for your kitchen improvements it is best to go for one main color, and then choose 1 or 2 other colors that you can use to add accents to it. It is best that you split the up the three colors you are going to use by using the following percentages: -
1. 60% - this will be the primary color that is going to be used on the walls or cabinets within your kitchen.
2. 30% - this is the secondary color you will choose to use, and which will be used to add accent to the room. You should consider using this color in the flooring or window coverings.
3. 10% - this final color will add further accent to the room but will compliment the other two colors already used. Generally you will include small items such as plates, dishes or artwork to provide this final color within the kitchen decor scheme.
Certainly when it comes to kitchen improvements, choosing the right colors for your design will help ensure that you create the right kind of mood and ambience within it. Plus you know it is going to be a place where people will enjoy congregating.
